Yichun Market Supervision Bureau Promotes the Successful Signing of the Third-Party Inspection and Testing Project of Zhangshu Metal Furniture Quality

On April 22, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement for the third-party inspection and testing project of metal furniture quality in Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province was held in Zhangshu City, Yichun, marking the official start of the cooperation between Zhangshu City and Shunde Furniture Research and Development Institute in Foshan, Guangdong.
Yichun metal furniture industry is concentrated in Zhangshu City. From the "scissors and hammer" manual workshop production in the 1970 s, it has developed into the only "Chinese metal furniture industry base" in the country. On July 2, 2021, it was recognized by the Ministry of Commerce as "Jiangxi Zhangshu City National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base (Metal Furniture)", showing a good momentum of development. The products cover more than 600 varieties of 10 series, such as metal furniture, archival equipment and fine storage equipment. It is China's metal furniture industry base, national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, and ranks 14th among the 100 key industrial clusters in Jiangxi Province. At present, the city has 201 metal furniture enterprises, 1 Chinese famous brand product, 5 Chinese well-known trademarks, 95 Jiangxi famous brand products, and 2 national "quality benchmark" enterprises. It is understood that in 2021, the main business income of the metal furniture industry in Zhangshu City reached 35.26 billion billion yuan, an increase of 16.9 percent over the same period last year. Product sales covered 31 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) across the country. Some products have been exported to Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States and other countries, realizing self-export of 26 million US dollars and agent export of 0.32 billion US dollars.
While showing a good momentum of development, Zhangshu City does not have a special metal furniture product testing agency in the local area, and most of the company's products are sent to the National Office Supplies Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Changzhou) and the National Security Alarm System Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center And the third-party inspection and testing agencies from other provinces for inspection. It takes about 10-20 days from sending samples for inspection to issuing inspection reports. The inspection cost is high, the time is long, and a lot of manpower and logistics costs are consumed. If a metal furniture product quality supervision and inspection center is established in Zhangshu City, the product inspection cycle of metal furniture companies in the city and surrounding counties (cities, districts) can be shortened by about 7-15 days, which can effectively save corporate costs and greatly improve the metal furniture industry Competitiveness and promote the development of the metal furniture industry.
Based on the needs of enterprises, the Yichun Market Supervision Bureau actively communicates and coordinates with the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau. The Provincial Market Supervision Bureau made a comprehensive evaluation from the perspective of industrial development, and specially approved Zhangshu City to adopt the model of "government guidance, enterprise investment, and market operation", through the integration of social resources, to prepare for the establishment of the Zhangshu City Provincial Metal Furniture Quality Inspection Center, and successfully attracted Foshan City Shunde Furniture Research and Development Institute Co., Ltd. to build a third-party inspection and testing service platform.
It is understood that after the completion of the project, there will be more than 200 inspection and testing service items, realizing the inspection of metal furniture product appearance, appearance, structural strength, physical and chemical properties of coating materials, safety performance, environmental protection and other aspects, so as to save repeated purchase of testing equipment and laboratory construction funds for metal furniture enterprises in Zhangshu City, and provide technical services for product research and development, quality control, and whole-process inspection of finished products leaving the factory. Effectively promote the industry to high-end, fill the gaps in the project in Yichun City.
