The metal furniture industry is one of the pillar industries in Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province. Starting from the handicraft workshops founded by farmers in the 1970 s, there are currently more than 30000 employees in the metal furniture industry in Zhangshu City, and the products account for 1/4 of the country's total. Today, Zhangshu's metal furniture industry combines science and technology with industry, setting up provincial post-doctoral innovation practice bases and provincial enterprise technology centers, and participating in the drafting of many national standards for metal furniture products. The metal furniture manufacturing industry in Zhangshu City is transforming and upgrading from "silly big black rough" to intelligent manufacturing.
